Taking up the task of Electric Towers’ Inspection across the The Central Mountain Range of Taiwan was an exceedingly complicated and challenging mission for AVIX. Taiwan’s Central Mountain Range is the general name for the range of mountains that span the length of central Taiwan from north to south, and it covers a majority of the most well-known peaks in Taiwan including the Mt. Jade (3952 meters) which is not only the highest peak of Taiwan but claimed to be the tallest mountain in Northeast Asia. We were able to take off from the central west part of Taiwan, and fly through the journey of 44km, crossing the highest altitude of 3869 meters and had completed the inspection of 74 electric power towers before we safely landed the drone at Hualien County, the eastern part of Taiwan.

While our AVIX team was carrying out the inspection & detection of the high voltage towers under critical conditions and mountainous area like this, problems like interruption of the data transmission, instability of airflow and weather effect and many other uncertainties that came our way, had to be overcome carefully and cautiously in order to maximize both the data collection quality and the performance of drone.
Taiwan Power Company(TaiPower), the island’s biggest energy provider is primarily engaged in the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity in Taiwan, we are excited and happy that our inspection work with TaiPower had been completed to their satisfaction. Having the chance to use our Unmanned Helicopter AXH-E230RS to fly over the lofty Central Mountain Range and involve in the new detection project had certainly marked a significant milestone for AVIX and global exploration.
We constantly Fly, to Serve and to Protect.
